The movie reminds me of the tea my sister drinks passion

The movie reminds me of the tea my sister drinks passionately: sugar and essence in a 3: 1 ratio. Sucrose in such doses kills the taste of tea, and this film kills the value of Jane Austen's books. There should be a warning on the packaging for fans of this writer. Overall, the film is neatly structured, with an idyllic landscape of the English countryside and enchanting music. The Oscar for Rachel Portman was well deserved. I could listen to this soundtrack endlessly - it refutes the stereotype that "monotonous" means "worse".

Unfortunately, the movie has many glitches.

Films about nineteenth-century England should contain all the nuances that adorn the novels of Jane Austen and other authors of this period.

It seems to me that the creators tried to be modern and humorous, but it turned out pathetic.

The plot was very short, the personalities of some characters (especially Mrs. Bates, who looks more childish than Mr. Woodhouse) downright grotesque. The actors played colorlessly.

Nobody shone, nobody showed their artistry in full. Gwyneth Paltrow did not fit the role at all. Emma should be spoiled, obnoxi
